Social Emotional Learning Grant 2021-25
Thanks to a generous grant from the Illinois State Board of Education, the Regional Offices in Illinois' Area 5 (#'s 3, 40, 41, 45, & 50) are able to bring extensive training and opportunities to the 7, 688 teachers spread across the 13 counties of our Area.

Live Workshops
To date, we have offered over 110 in-person and online workshops with over 2,600 attendees. This summer, our annual New Directions in Education Conference will be free to everyone with 100% SEL-related content. In July, team from 16 of our districts will spend a week taking a deep dive into SEL and School Improvement at our Summer Summit. Podcast
Tethered and Whole - a weekly podcast designed to help educator resilience. Short episodes with strategies. The Teachers' Classroom Podcast, supported by the Area 5 ROEs and TeachIllinois, has longer format interviews with experts in all areas of education. |
Asynchronous Learning
We have partnered with TeachIllinois, the online learning platform where all IL educators can earn PD Hours through book studies and a specially-curated series of courses around equity, trauma, and social-emotional strategies for the classroom. All SEL-related courses are now FREE. News & Media
Follow along on our SEL Blog as we archive our weekly JumpStart emails, sent out to 7,900+ recipients each Monday. In addition, there are monthly articles related to self-care and mental health and a folder of media releases of noteworthy events in our Area. |
