GED Testing
Please start by reading the Eligibility & Requirements and seeking out Test Prep Assistance. To schedule your GED test, use the button to the right, then select "Find a testing center", choose a location and enter your zip code. Scroll down on that page and click on the "register button" for the location you would like and create your account.
GED Certificates and Transcripts
For those who took their GED Tests in Regional Office of Education 40, we are happy to provide you with a duplicate of your transcript and/or certificate. To have one or both of these sent to you, print and complete the GED Request Form. then mail it, along with your payment in the form of a check or money order to ROE 40. IMPORTANT: Illinois GED records are located at (and Verifications, Transcripts and Certificates are issued by) the Regional Offices of Education* (ROE), so you must first determine the correct ROE to contact. Here's how: If the test was completed prior to January 1, 2014 (and was not taken on computer), contact the ROE* for the county where the test was taken. If the test was completed after December 31, 2013 (or was taken on computer in 2012/2013), contact the Reginal Office of Education for the county where you lived at the time of test completion. - Youth Build begins Orientation starting 1/12 – 1/16 from 8:30-3:30pm. As a refresher – YouthBuild is our program designed to serve out of school youth, 16-24 years of age. YouthBuild is a unique contextualized career pathway program designed to prepare young adults to complete their State of Illinois High School Diploma while gaining skills in construction trades, computer careers, solar installation and welding. *Flyer attached
- Students enrolled in YouthBuild will attend at our Scott Bibb Center Monday – Thursday 8:30-3:30pm and Fridays 8:30-2:30pm.
- YouthBuild students earn a daily stipend for attendance and participation while also earning industry recognized credentials in the trades. They will earn their CPR/1st Aid Certification and OSHA 10 certification.
- Project READ – We continue to offer our FREE tutoring for adult learners over 17 years of age. Do you or someone you know have a heart for serving the community. Do you have a few hours a week to help students increase their math or literacy skills? We train volunteer tutors and we are currently in need of tutors across the LC District! If you can help spread the word – we can all play a part in increasing literacy in our community. Please have someone call our Project READ line at 618-468-4144 to get started! *Flyer attached
